In St. Joseph Secondary school, there is no mass promotion as in the case of public school. A student fails a class two times and would be asked to leave the school. The slogan is known as “Fail and Fail Out”

The school participated in Essay writing competition organized by the Enugu state Catholic education commission both junior and senior category and took 1st position in the year 2016

In the field of sports, the students do go for relay invitation comprises of lots of school in Enugu, and always come back with top positions.

The school participated in the Enugu state Catholic Education Commission in the cultural fiesta of 2017 where the school Performed on Igbo drama and came out fantastic.
